a play between simple poetics & optical glare for an ‘advert’ in Five magazine curated by Gavin Turk: The Labyrinth of the Gaze limited edition publication Feb 2004.

__________________________________________________ FIVE is a multi-format publication produced in limited editions. Each issue is hand-numbered and presented as a collector’s item.

 

Guest creative directors/curators work in collaboration with FIVE to explore their personal interpretation of a theme and format, presenting a new vision with each edition.

 

FIVE is distributed in galleries and bookshops throughout the UK and internationally.

a response to Watersheds’ call for seat sponsorship as part of their refurbishment & creation of a new cinema space. Amidst the various seats sponsored with name plaques is this limited edition of ‘you’ve got beautiful eyes’.

Open Studios, Spike Island, Bristol.

Spike Island houses over 100 artists and the Open Studios is a major event in Bristols cultural calendar. Each year Spike Island report an increase in attendance figures, in 2004 reaching 9,000.

 

The majority of work on display is studio based and the Open provides an annual marketing opportunity for resident artists.

For the 2005 Open Studios, Spike Island invited other Bristol artists / groups to showcase their work within the central space.

An edition of 1000 carrier bags was produced in response to this invitation; providing a container for the numerous flyers, postcards, maps etc associated with the visual arts exhibited.
